Storytelling with wordless picture books

Sessions for pupils/students Special

Wordless picture books make storytelling exciting and accessible by using strong visual imagery to tell the story. In this session our librarians work closely with teachers to determine which books are most suited to their students and we use those books during the session.  Students spend time with the books in small groups to look at the images and talk about the story as they see it.  An adult helper or good writer in the group may write their own version of the story on sticky notes in preparation for sharing their tale with their classmates, with the help of a visualiser and peer support.

1 session is 2 hours

This session can also be booked by the hour under our pay as you go system. Please contact us for costs per hour.
