Online resource to transform reading with stories that matter
The Day engages even the most reluctant students with topical, real‑world stories that spark curiosity and enjoyment. The Day builds literacy and critical thinking skills to improve outcomes across the curriculum. We believe that making lessons out of news gives young people the knowledge and confidence to think and believe in themselves.
All resources are carefully written by a team of journalists, available in three different reading levels catering for all abilities for students aged 11-18. Each day we publish two topical news articles, along with debate prompts, vocabulary definitions, student writing ideas and comprehension activities. Along with weekly quizzes, daily videos, ready made assemblies and PSHCE new lesson plans on themes that matter to young people.

The Day subscription is brill too, we have two literacy tutor times a week so we send out two articles to be read during these times. It really gets the students talking and engaged with current affairs which is always great.
